Good morning everyone! My name is Yiu Ho Kan from Class 6A. I am an English Ambassador. I like to take a moment and share a book with you.
The library theme of this year is about Nature and I’ve chosen this book for the sharing. It is called the First Encyclopedia of Science. If you read this book, you learn about Space, weathers, living things and more. Reading this book can help you understand about our planet Earth and the Science behind it all.
I enjoy looking at plants and I am always curious how they grow from tiny little seeds. Because I’ve read this book, I learn that plants make their own food by getting energy from the sun, sucking up water and minerals from rain water. Unlike plants, animals need to move around to look for food. Some animals only eat plants. Some animals only eat meat. Surely, you can find out more about animals and their diets too by reading this book.
We often learn about words about the weather like sunny, cloudy, rainy, stormy in our English lessons… but have any of you ever wondered why we have different weathers? This book explains that three main things make weather happen: They are the Sun, the air we breathe in and water. The author also draws the water cycle so we can understand where rain comes from and where rain is collected for human use.
This book covers many interesting topics and it only takes a minute or two to read upon a topic. The colourful pictures and interesting diagrams and illustrations makes it easier for me to know and remember the facts from the book. Hope you enjoy my short sharing today.
